Today the flames they reached my bed,
and I didn't do a single thing about it.
I lay and watched the birds instead,
and saw them off to a better place.
There's certain things I must accept,
like how I'm just an amateur at best.
When it comes to making amends
I wouldn't even qualify for time well spent.
Today the seas they reached my shores,
and no one was there to see me fall into it.
I'll float and watch the birds ignore
the breaking of waves going on beneath them.
There's certain things I must accept,
like how I'm just an amateur at best.
When it comes to making amends
I wouldn't even qualify for time well spent.
Ordinary life is taking over my wildest dreams, and I
have put a cap on the amount of time that I spend wasting on these things.
Are we better off on this one way road which we've called existence,
when even the best of us won't make it out alive?
